DR NIKHIL RISHIKESHI After completing post graduation in Ophthalmology in 2000, Dr Nikhil worked as Assistant Lecturer in Ophthalmology and taught post graduate students for 3 years. That’s where he developed a love for teaching.
Thereafter, he worked in rural areas of Maharashtra for a period of almost 3 years, operating more than 3000 needy patients in charitable organisations.
In 2005 /2006, Dr Nikhil joined Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Pune, evaluating and treating more than 15000 children with a variety of eye disorders and performing more than 1000 pediatric eye surgeries.
He then worked with Dr Pradeep Sharma at R. P. CENTRE, AIIMS and gathered more exclusive experience in Strabismus and Nystagmus surgeries.
His next fellowship was at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, UK. He was then working as Consultant in Pediatric Ophthalmology at H.V.Desai Eye Hospital, Pune.
In 2009, Dr Nikhil Rishikeshi took over as Head of department of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and continued working there till August 2022.
He operated more than 10000 Speciality pediatric Ophthalmologist surgeries including pediatric cataracts, all types of squints, Nystagmus and Adult cataract Phacoemulsification surgeries.

Even 1 month old babies were operated for congenital cataracts.

Dr Nikhil Rishikeshi has conducted long term fellowship training for more than 12 years wherein he trained ophthalmologists from all over the country as well as international trainees – from Armenia, Nigeria, Ghana, England etc.
Dr Nikhil has publications in peer reviewed journals and has spoken as Faculty at multiple State, national and International Conferences.
He has also been invited to perform live surgeries at Conferences.
