Dr. Abhiram A Thacker

Dr. Abhiram A. Thacker is a Retina Surgeon, Uvea, and ROP specialist with 8 years of experience in ophthalmology. He completed his undergraduate studies at BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, and pursued his postgraduate training at MGM Medical College and MY Hospital, Indore.Dr. Thacker underwent fellowship training in Retina and Uvea at the renowned Sadguru Netra Chikitsalay, Chitrakoot, and further specialized in ROP under Dr. Anand Vinekar at Narayana Netralaya. He continued his consultancy in the Retina Department at SNC, Chitrakoot, for over two years, where he actively participated in both clinical and research work. His research collaborations included working with IIT Kanpur. During his tenure at Chitrakoot, he initiated a screening program for preterm infants with ROP in three neighboring districts. He also contributed to training programs for ophthalmic assistants in ROP screening and was actively involved in teaching and mentoring. Dr. Thacker has performed over 3,000 retina procedures, including lasers, injections, and surgeries such as macular holes, retinal detachments, and complex vitrectomies. He also served as a Retina Consultant at a private hospital in Jabalpur for a year. Dr. Thacker has presented his work at various scientific events and conferences and received the Best Paper Award in Retina at MPSOS 2023.
